Meet the team. Beardog, aka Muskwa, is the inspiration for and namesake of Beardog Cafe. Raven, who survived 14 days of emergency care due to acute pancreatitis, inspired our signature gingerbread for dogs. Kate, our beloved co-founder who sadly passed away in 2014 due to complications from cancer, is the spirit of Beardog Cafe. She embodied compassion, joy, adventure and a zen-like peacefulness in who she was and how she lived. Stella, a tomboy at heart with a passion for simple living, home baking, photography, wildlife, lakes and oceans, is the other co-founder of Beardog Cafe and sidekick to Cedar, our VP quality control. Cedar was adopted from Zoes Animal Rescue in Edmonton, lived his first few years on Vancouver Island and inspires pretty well Stella’s entire daily routine. As it should be! Pat – aka the Local Artisan – is the creative genius behind Beardog Cafe’s visual displays, merchandising and gift cafe. She is dog-whisperer, expert gardener and a-ma-zing artist. Pat’s hand-painted pillows and wall hangings are on display and for sale at Beardog’s Gift Cafe.

Barkista

If you have a thirst about optimal pet nutrition and outdoor dog adventures, then you’ll want to join Beardog Cafe’s barkista team.

Requirements

• Must be motivated by dog-talk, cat-talk, and all talk concerning dogs and cats

• Must love dogs and cats and want to pet them all

• You understand the difference between feeding pets and nourishing pets and understand what makes one pet food a better option than others

• Even though hauling bags of food up to 40lbs can be a chore, you don’t mind because – remember – you love dogs and cats.

• We get it. You’re an introvert at heart. But at Beardog Cafe, your inner socialite inevitably comes out because, well, you get to talk pet play, nutrition and exercise all day long. That’s: All. Day. Long. But you love it and so do we.

Satellite Barkista

Same as above, only you live in a remote area and want to be our rep, ensuring pets in your rural area have access to optimal pet nutrition, our signature gingerbread for dogs and of course, Ruffwear adventure gear for dogs. In addition to the above, here’s what you’ll want to be a master of.

Requirements

• You love talking dog and cat nutrition so much, you’ll talk to friends, family and even strangers about it.

• You’re an organization master – Marie Kondo move over – and can keep orders, payments and deliveries all sorted out in your Bullet Journal, or other little blackbook.

• You love to gather folks together over coffee, at your home, at their home and talk pet nutrition, exercise and play. You see where this is going, don’t you? That’s right, our barkistas connect with pet parents and help them shop Beardog Cafe for the very best in pet nutrition, toys, treats and adventure gear.
